6-7 swingman Regis Koundjia, one of the top rising seniors in the state of North Carolina, committed to LSU earlier in the year. Since that verbal, rumors have been floating around that he had backed off that recruitment. DeaconSports talked with his coach this week to find out the latest on Regis' recruitment.
Laurinburg Institute forward Regis Koundjia verbally committed to LSU on a trip to Baton Rouge earlier in the year. After that visit, rumors have continuously surfaced that Koundjia has reneged from his verbal commitment and has opened up his recruitment once again.
This past weekend, DeaconSports found out that this was not the case.
"He's still committed to LSU despite the rumors," Laurinburg coach Chris Chainy said. "He's definitely still with LSU."
Chainy also said that Koundjia, a 6-7 athletic swingman who averaged 16 points and 10 boards per game last season, will play for the D.C. Assault this summer in AAU ball and will attend the Adidas camp.
