Stewart Still Lists Wake

A.J. Stewart has finished his high school season is thinking about his recruitment and the summer circuit. He updated DeaconSports on the latest in his play and recruitment.

Last year A.J. Stewart didn't start for Jacksonville Country Day, this year he averaged 15 points and 11 rebounds and led them to their second consecutive state championship. The 6-foot-8 power forward played with more confidence this season and has a number of college coaches showing interest.

Stewart said that Miami (FL), Florida, Florida State, Wake Forest, Illinois and Syracuse are the schools showing him the most interest. And he claims scholarship offers from all of them including Auburn and Clemson.

"I'm not really sure," Stewart responded when asked about taking visits. I'm going to sit down with my coach and my mom and see what I'm going to do and see what schools they think I should go visit."

Wake Forest is one school that is likely to get a visit from Stewart. He likes their style of play and the conference they are affiliated with.

They are in the ACC and they play the best competition so I'm definitely looking at them," he said of Wake Forest.

Stewart will take his standardized test in April so expect him to take some visits during the summer. However his summer will be busy playing on the AAU circuit with the Tallahassee Wildcats. One of the main goals for the summer is to improve a few parts of his game.

"You can always improve on your game. There's always room for work. I got to work on my jump shot and my handlings."
