Wake Checking Out Coly

The Wake Forest basketball coaching staff is busy trying to find the right big man for the Wake Forest basketball team. In doing so, the staff has run across Boubacar Coly.

In Wake Forest's quest to pick up at least one more big man in the class of 2003, the Deacon coaching staff has run across Boubacar Coly. A 6-9 power forward prospect, Coly has seen his interest increase since we last talked with his coach, Chris Chainy, about Coly's recruitment.

At this point, Chainy notes that "Louisville, Wake, Maryland, Mississippi, and Georgia Tech" are some of the schools recruiting Boubacar. He also notes that he has scholarship offers from Mississippi and that the Deacs are recruiting him hard as well.

Chainy also told DeaconSports that he took Coly on an unofficial visit to Wake Forest in May. "It was good," Chainy said. "We're pretty close with Coach Prosser and it was good to see the campus and the facilities. [Boubacar] was very impressed with what he saw at Wake Forest." Coly will play with the Atlanta Celtics this summer as well as attending the Adidas camp. After that, Coly will take "unofficial visits in late summer and we'll have him decide on officials at that time."

Chainy said that the Wake Forest coaching staff was very high on Coly. We will check in with Coach Chainy again in a couple weeks and have more on Coly's recruitment.
