One Deac Fails To Qualify For 2002

DeaconSports has learned that just one of Jim Grobe's class of 2002 recruiting class has failed to qualify and will enroll in a prep school for the upcoming season.

DeaconSports has learned that Jyles Tucker, a 6-4 245 pounder out of Morristown-Beard High School in Morristown, has failed to qualify for admission to Wake Forest for the Fall semester and will attend prep school. Tucker, a defensive end prospect, ran a 4.7 40 as a senior in high school.

As a high school senior, Tucker chose Wake Forest over a host of other schools around the nation. Some of the other schools that stepped up with offers to Tucker included Michigan State, Purdue, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Maryland.

As for Jyles' future, DeaconSports is told that Tucker will attend Virginia's Hargrave Military Academy this upcoming season. Although his recruitment is opened back up with his enrollment at Hargrave, Tucker is expected to attend Wake Forest after a season with the school.
