Deacs After Charlotte OL

Wake Forest has shown heavy interest in Charlotte Catholic offensive lineman Henry Lawson early on in Lawson's recruitment. In fact, the Deacs have invited Lawson down to visit the campus on several occasions, including spring practice this past month.

""I'm hearing a lot from Wake, [North Carolina] State, [North] Carolina, South Carolina, and Boston College," Henry Lawson said. "My top two right now are Wake Forest and State. They're the two that have talked to me the most right now."

After visiting Wake, State, Carolina, and Duke, the Wolfpack and Demon Deacons' programs stand out to Lawson early on. "That's just because I like the way the programs are run," he said. "Wake, it's a nice small environment and I like the coaching staff. I met the offensive line coach and he's a really nice guy. State, I like them too and like how they run the program."

Lawson, who showed well at the Scout.com combine in Durham this past month, still has several camps to attend this summer to prepare for his senior season and get college looks. The 6'3 ½, 285-pound lineman plans to attend the Nike Combine at Athens as well as camps at North Carolina, North Carolina State, and Wake Forest.

Lawson will also continue to work hard on his daily routine in the weight room to prep for his senior season. "I'm just focusing on speed and strength and getting ready for the season," he noted. "I'm in the weight room every day."

That work ethic, coupled with a strong group of players returning for Charlotte Catholic, may help Lawson continue his streak of wins at Charlotte Catholic. Lawson has yet to lose a game while in high school. "We lost a lot of guys but we're returning a bunch of guys too and from JV we'll be good. I don't know, but I think we'll do well."
