Profile 2003 - Avery Hannibal (DE)

Avery Hannibal is one of the top defensive linemen in the state of Georgia this year. At 6-1 and 240 pounds with a 4.7 forty time, Hannibal is being recruited to play defensive end, but he could also be a stout middle linebacker. In fact, with his circle rimmed glasses and gigantic shoulders, he even looks like one of the best linebackers of all time, Mike Singletary.

"Yeah, I'm being recruited to play defensive end right now," said Hannibal. "I have early offers from UCF, Troy State, and East Carolina. Those are 3 of my favorite teams along with South Carolina and Wake Forest."

Hannibal is a well rounded powerhouse of an athlete that his honed his quickness and leverage on the mat. He's 2 time State Champion wrestler at the 225 pound weight class. At 240 pounds currently, Hannibal is looking to dominate the heavyweight ranks. "I'm moving up to heavyweight this year. I can keep my weight up for football that way."
