"Pretty good I guess," Howard said about how he's playing. "I'm just trying to play hard and have fun, and with this team it's not hard to do, I think I've done alright."
The Spiece Central Stars have Howard and JaJuan Johnson patrolling the paint, but are extremely guard oriented. They have at least 4 or 5 players that can light it up from deep, so Howard doesn't get many touches in the paint. But it has allowed him to work on other aspects of his game.
"I'm really just trying to work on my shooting and dribbling. It seems like more and more with this team I play on the wing so I need to improve on that."
Howard said that he is being recruited as a power forward/wing player at the next level. Among the schools showing interest are Miami (OH), Xavier, Wright State, West Virginia, Northern Illinois and Wake Forest.
He's already tripped to Miami (OH) and Xavier and there is a good chance that team JaJuan Johnson and Howard will stop by Wake Forest on their way to the Tournament of Champions, Memorial Day weekend.
"I'm mainly looking at the coaches and the players and how they run their basketball program," he said about what he was looking for in a school. "I want to do something in business and I can get that just about anywhere I go."
Does any one stick out right now?
"Not extremely," Howard said. "Right now I'm pretty open."
