Nike MDC: Wake Targets

The Nike Memorial Day Classic kicked off this morning and there were three Wake Forest targets on hand. Patrick Patterson, Matthew Bryan-Manning and Terrell McKenzie all checked in with DeaconSports.com

Patrick Patterson, PF, Boo Williams – The 6-8 power forward was impressive in both of his games today, but especially against Georgia Elite. He was a monster on the glass, as he relentlessly went after rebounds. He didn't do much by way of offense, but opponents must respect his post moves. He provided the large on-looking crowd two sick dunks, one of the two-handed tip dunk variety. After his night game he mentioned that Florida, Wake Forest, Kentucky and Virginia as the schools recruiting him the hardest.

Matthew Bryan-Manning, PF, Team Final – This guy does all the dirty work for Team Final, and he does a pretty good job doing it. He goes after rebounds, but would like to see him toughen up a little. Tyreke Evans rewarded his big man for running the floor when he tossed him the ball on the break, in which Bryan-Manning flushed home. He's strong around the rim and made an extremely impressive up and under move on Freddy Asprilla in the paint. Manning said after the game that Wake Forest is among his final three schools the other two are Washington and Pittsburgh.

Terrell McKenzie, New York Gauchos – McKenzie isn't your typical flashy New York point guard. But the guy wants to win and knows how to run a team. After the game McKenzie said that Wake Forest is one of the schools that he is hearing from and has mutual interest with. Other schools in the running are Miami, St. Johns, Clemson, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

Chris Wright is sick and couldn't make the trip with Boo Williams. You can tell they are missing their point guard, but they are still one of the more talented teams in the tournament.
