MDC: Wake Targets Day 2

The Wake targets performed well on Day 2 of the Nike Memorial Day Classic. Patrick Patterson helped his team advance to the final day where he'll play against the Arkansas Wings early Monday morning.

Patrick Patterson, PF, Boo Williams – His play on day 2 was much of the same as day 1. He stands 6-8 and goes hard when he wants too. Every now and then he'll take a possession off, but when wants to get a rebound there aren't too many players that can stop him from getting it. Most of his points against the Portland Legends came by running the fast break on Sunday. He got at least three dunks on the break and also hit a nice jump hook in the paint. It would be surprising if Boo Williams doesn't make it to the championship game. They have been ripping through the competition.

Terrell McKenzie, PG, NY Gauchos – The more I watch McKenzie the more I like him. He's just solid at everything he does and he NEVER stops talking when he's on the court. He's always helping his teammates, but every now and then you'll catch him give his opponent an earful as well. From talking with him, he seems like a grounded and good kid as well. Wake is among the schools he likes and it wouldn't be surprising to see him make a decision sometime in the near future. Who will he pick? That is still up in the air.

Matthew Bryan-Amaning, PF, Team Final – Just like McKenzie, Bryan-Amaning can grow on you. He's missing some intensity, but he's a wide body and actually has a decent touch around the goal. He struggled when he was guard by athletic sensation Donte Green, but that wasn't a major surprise. However, he did get a nice move or two in on Green. Playing with Team Final he doesn't get many touches in the paint, but he doesn't mind doing the dirty work. Think down the road with this kid, if he adds some intensity to his game he could turn out to be a pretty solid big guy.
