Williams Ready For Wake Forest

Early in his recruitment, wide receiver Marshall Williams committed to Wake Forest as a member of the class of 2006. Since then, he's stayed loyal to Wake Forest and has worked hard to prepare himself to play at Wake this season.

"It's been a strenuous summer," Marshall Williams said. "I've been working out. I got the workout from the strength coach and I've definitely hit it hard. This is my 14th week, I believe. I started running, getting ready for Alphonso Smith and the other DBs as well. I've been working hard, definitely working hard."

In addition to working hard, Williams has kept in touch with a couple of current Deacs. "I've seen Richard Belton a couple of times, Josh Gattis, those guys. I've definitely seen them around and talked to them lately. I report July 5th. I'm definitely going to be ready. It's just going to be another day because I'll definitely already be prepared."

With a wide receiver group that is looking for quality depth, Williams may need to be prepared to step in and play in his first season on campus in Winston-Salem. "What they tell me is that I have a really good chance of not redshirting," he said. "It's always a possibility, but I'm going with the attitude that it doesn't matter to me. I know that Wake will make me better whether it's playing this year or redshirting and playing four years after that."
