Weaver Commits To Wake Forest

Wake Forest picked up commitment #3 this week when offensive lineman Doug Weaver committed to the Wake Forest program. Weaver committed to the Wake staff after taking an unofficial visit to the Winston-Salem campus.

Doug Weaver, an offensive lineman from Person High in Roxboro, N.C., backed off a commitment to Duke early this year in order to take a look at his options. Today Weaver found what he and his family believe to be the best option.

"Doug committed to Wake Forest today!" said Tammy Weaver, Doug's mother. "My husband and I took the trip to Winston Salem with him and he told the coaches that he wanted to be a part of their team."

With the commitment, the Deacs continue to load up on in-state talent as Weaver joins safety John Stamper and linebacker Kyle Jarrett, both from West Forsyth High in Clemmons, N.C.

Weaver had offers from Wake, Duke, NC State, East Carolina, Maryland and UVa before committing to the Deacs. Stay tuned to DeaconSports for more on Weaver.
