Blue Ribbon College Football Forecast Announces Top 25 Poll, All-America teamsTennessee has been chosen as the No. 1 team in the country in Blue Ribbon College Football Forecast's preseason Top 25 poll.
The Volunteers were ranked just ahead of Oklahoma, the 2000 national champions, with Florida State and Texas coming in a close third and fourth, respectively. Miami, the 2001 national champion, is fifth in Blue Ribbon's poll.
Washington State, Michigan, Georgia, Nebraska and Colorado round out the top ten.
Eight of the nation's 11 NCAA Division I-A conferences are represented in the poll. The Southeastern Conference leads with five teams, followed by the Big 12, Big Ten and Pac-10 with four each and the Atlantic Coast Conference and Big East with three each. Conference USA and the Mid-American Conference are represented in the poll by Louisville and Marshall, respectively.
Blue Ribbon has chosen Miami's Ken Dorsey as its Offensive Player of the Year, and Maryland's E.J. Henderson as the Defensive Player of the Year.
Blue Ribbon College Football Forecast, formerly known as Blue Ribbon College Football Yearbook, is being published in 2002 by Brassey's, Inc. of Dulles, Va.
