Nike Camp : Day One Wake Targets

The first day of Nike Camp wasn't too exciting, but there were some interesting match ups and a number of big time college coaches on hand including Skip Prosser. Wake Forest's Head Coach was on hand checking out a number of Demon Deacon targets.

Dorenzo Hudson – SG – 2007 – Hudson is on my list of players to check out today. However I did talk with him during the media session and he updated his recruitment. He listed Boston College, Oklahoma state, N.C. State, Clemson, Miami, Wake Forest, Georgia and Virginia Tech.

Keaton Nankivil – PF – 2007 – The big guy didn't have a great day at the office, but it wasn't bad either. He's always going to rebound and move guys out of the paint, the main thing holding him back is his lack of athleticism. He plays hard and his post moves are decent as he has a nice jump hook.

Chris Wright - PG – 2007 – He didn't play as well as he's been hyped this past spring, but he deserves a break considering he's coming off of mono. The PG sees the floor well and is deadly from deep when he gets it going. Recruiting wise he said that Georgetown is his leader and he also likes Georgia Tech, Illinois, Miami, Wake Forest, Clemson, N.C. State and DePaul.

Dominique Jones – SG – 2007 – Jones didn't get many touches in yesterday's games, but he was efficient. He made a great move to the basket and he's sneaky quick. He's still a guy for high majors to monitor. The schools on his list are Wake Forest, Pittsburgh and George Washington. GW is the only one that has offered him a scholarship.

Terrell McKenzie – PG – 2007 – Rumor has it McKenzie played well, but I wasn't able to catch one of his games. However he did list Wake Forest, Maryland, Miami, Clemson, St. Johns and Virginia Tech. His AAU coach stated that he thought it was a two horse race and that Wake Forest and St. John's were the top two.

Patrick Patterson – PF -2007 – It's tough to continue to write about Patrick Patterson because he ends up in EVERY report. The kid has been flat out killing people in the paint and he's now much improved mid range game makes him that more dangerous. Patterson was bombarded by the media today, but he listed the normal schools of Wake Forest, Kentucky, Florida and Duke.

A.J. Stewart – PF – 2007 – One surprising fact is that Stewart was measured at 6-8 with out shoes. There have been questions about his height, but not any more especially when you realize he has a 7-foot wingspan. Stewart hadn't a decent day and showed off his athleticism. He needs to stay in the paint more often as he has great face up post skills. Stewart said the four schools he's interested in the most are Wake Forest, Florida, Florida State and Miami.
