St. John Close To A Decision

Offensive lineman Stephen St. John is one of the better offensive linemen in the state of South Carolina this season. A 6'7, 285-pounder, St. John has received three early offers and plans to decide soon.

The camp circuit paid off for Dutch Fork High School (SC) offensive lineman Stephen St. John. "I went to the Nike Camp and I was voted the best offensive lineman there," St. John said. "I didn't have any offers until I went to camps. I went to Marshall and got an offer and Wake Forest. The beginning of July I got an offer from Maryland. Wake and Marshall's came in June."

Along with those three schools, St. John also continues to receive interest from other programs. Middle Tennessee State, UNC, and Georgia continue to inquire on St. John.

"I'm looking to make a decision soon," St. John noted. "I haven't felt right choosing one of the schools yet, but I'd like to make a decision pretty soon. After getting offers, I've visited Marshall for junior day, been to Wake Forest, and I've been to Maryland."

St. John spoke about each of his current offering schools. "Marshall was my first offer and have been with me the longest," he noted. "That's real strong with them. With Wake Forest, I used to live near outside there in Davie County. It's a close to home kind of thing and I know a lot of people there and the academics are great. Maryland is a good academic school and it's got what I want to major in, criminology. They've actually got the number one program in the nation for that."

The Irmo native is being recruited by each school as an offensive tackle and has no plans to make further visits at this point. "I just want to go somewhere that I feel comfortable."
