"I've taken an official to Wake and UConn," Boyer noted. "UConn went well. Obviously they've got the new facility. More than anything I love the coaching staff. It's a great group of guys and was a great weekend.
"Wake, I actually loved," Boyer continued. "From the moment I got there it was great and very welcoming. Coach Mack, the recruiting assistant, and the players were great. I got to hang with them and I got the game atmosphere and got to see the school."
Boyer, who visited Wake Forest for the Clemson game, is being recruited to Wake Forest as a defensive end. "Most schools are recruiting me for defensive end but a few are recruiting me for tight end. Wake recruited me for tight end at first but now they want me at defensive end. I wouldn't say I have a preference, I would play either, but since most schools are recruiting me at defensive end, I'll probably play defense."
With two visits down, Boyer now has plans to visit a couple of other schools before deciding. "I'm going to Northwestern December 1st and then I think I might go visit an Ivy League school some other time in December. I might do one with Rutgers or somebody like that. I'm going to be flexible with that last one and deal with it as it comes."
While Boyer plans to decide in December, he will definitely visit Northwestern before making his final decision. "What I'm going to do, I definitely want to take my Northwestern visit and hopefully another. A lot of the schools like Wake, I think they're going to stick it out with me until December."
At this point, Boyer has offers from Wake, Syracuse, Rutgers, Northwestern, Minnesota, Cincinnati, UConn, William & Mary, and Bowling Green.
"What I'm looking for is obviously a place that fits me and I feel comfortable with," Boyer noted, with every factor, the football, coaches, academics. I want to go to a good school academically. There's a chance to go to the NFL, but not everyone is going to the NFL so I need a good education."
