Four-Star DB Adds Wake In Favorites

Akeem Auguste is one of the top cornerback prospects in the entire state of Florida this year and the Chaminade standout talked about the latest.

"We just didn't play real good," Akeem Auguste said of his team's semi-final loss to Clewiston last week. "We beat ourselves. They scored after a fluke play on a punt. But the bottom line is their defense shut us down and they beat us so they're playing for the title this week and not us."

Auguste, 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, is now playing basketball and will run track in the spring. In the meantime, he plans on enjoying the recruiting process.

"I've been to Pittsburgh (for a visit) and South Carolina is next," he said. "I go up there on the 8th. The other ones havent been decided yet. Florida State still calls. I'm also now looking at West Virginia and Wake Forest."

The talented defensive back prospect said he's not ready to name a favorite yet.

"This will come down to the wire," he said. "I wanna make sure I'm making the right choice and I still have four visits left to take."
