Petit-Jean Closing In On Decision

Junior Petit-Jean continues to journey through the recruiting process, taking visits and taking his time before making his decision. Petit-Jean spoke with DeaconSports Monday concerning his recruitment and future plans.

This past weekend, Junior Petit-Jean made his second official visit, a trip to Florida Atlantic. "I just came from [Florida Atlantic] this past weekend and I've got West Virginia this weekend and Wisconsin the next," said safety prospect Junior Petit-Jean. "[Florida Atlantic] was a good visit. I had a pretty good visit and everything went smooth."

With two visits down, Petit-Jean has two more visits on the way including trips to West Virginia next weekend and Wisconsin the weekend after. "I'd say Wake is at the top right now and then Wisconsin and then West Virginia. When I went over [to Wake Forest] I had that reaction where I was comfortable with the school, the coaches and players. It could be a perfect fit for me."

Helping Wake's cause may be high school teammate and good friend Gelo Orange. A defensive end, Orange also holds an offer from Wake Forest and could very well commit to Wake Forest in the near future.

Although Petit-Jean has two more visits on his slate, he is unsure when he will make his decision. "I'm not sure how long I'll wait," he noted. "I can't really tell you that because it's when I feel right about it."

Petit-Jean helped Naples High School to a 12-2 record in his senior season. In doing so, he had 50 tackles, four sacks, three blocked field goals, three forced fumbles, and two interceptions.
