Scott: Ole Miss Or Wake Forest?

After his visit to Ole Miss from the 12th-14th of this month, St. Petersburg, Florida defensive tackle Lawon Scott verbally committed to the Rebels. Still, he wanted to visit Wake Forest and be sure he was making the right decision and, this past weekend, Scott took a trip to Winston-Salem to visit the Demon Deacon program.

"I made it up on the 19th," Lawon Scott said of his trip to Wake Forest. "Basically I loved the academics and the coaches there especially Coach Grobe."

Scott was hosted by defensive tackle Boo Robinson and hung out with Robinson and Robinson's roommate Dominique Midgett during most of his stay. "That was my first trip but a lot of people said it would be real nice," he said. "Basically the campus was really nice and wasn't that big which I liked. I don't want to go somewhere that's huge."

With visits to Ole Miss, The Citadel, and Wake Forest complete, Scott has completed his official visits and is in the process of making his final decision. "I'm done right now with visits," he noted. "I went to Ole Miss last week and The Citadel before that."

Wake Forest turned his head with this past weekend's visit and Scott is now set on attending either Wake Forest or Ole Miss. "I'm still kind of leaning [to Ole Miss,] but I don't know…basically both of the coaching staffs are close with their players and I like that. I'm going to try to have [my decision] done by Friday."

Although the Deacs currently trail for his services, it isn't for a lack of effort by the Demon Deacon coaches. "Coach Grobe came I think last Tuesday and [Ole Miss'] Coach Orgeron came the day before I made my visit to Wake. I think Coach [McCartney] and Coach Lobo are coming on Wednesday."

Stay tuned to DeaconSports this week as Scott makes his decision between Ole Miss and Wake Forest.
