On choosing Wake Forest
First of all, I had a lot of offers from different schools. Top 10 and top 5 schools. But there was something about Wake Forest. Every sports writer from college football picked them close to last in their conference. Then, them winning and being ACC Champs, that shows they're doing some things right and are going in the right direction.

On his relationship with the coaches plus more on Wake Forest
I love my recruiting coach, Coach McCartney and the way he is. Not only is he the recruiting coach for me, he's my position coach. I like the other coaches too. I love their defense, their tenacity, and they make big plays. Everyting about Wake Forest is great.

Other offers he received before committing
I had Rutgers, South Carolina, Missouri, Middle Tennessee, Memphis, Maryland, Virginia, Michigan State, Wisconsin – really, my last two choices were Wisconsin and Wake Forest.

His current workout to prepare for Wake Forest
Right now, I'm working out and working at my school every day with my coaches. I don't know that I'm fully ready yet so I'm working hard. I'm working hard at my school and getting faster and quicker and stronger."

His current measurables
I'm 6'2, 265-pounds right now. I'm looking to gain weight, though. By the start of the season, I want to be 275-280. I want to just get bigger weight wise. As far as the weightroom, I maxed out 385 on bench. I think my squat was 590 and I hang clean 350.

On his signing day festivities
I think we have something at 8:15 or 8:30 in the school library. They'll have cameras and stuff like that. We've got eight D-I players signing, one of the higher totals in the county.
