Real Deal: Victor Davila Spotlight

There was word that Victor Davila might show up in Arkansas playing with a California team and sure enough it was true. Davila ran with Pump N Run Elite and helped them win the Real Deal on the Hill championship.

Victor Davila certainly wasn't dominant this past weekend, but he definitely made his presence known. The strongly built, 6-foot-8, 230-pound PF manned the post for Pump N Run and played great defense throughout the weekend.

"I've been doing alright," the Puerto Rican native said. "They invited me to play with them so I decided to come."

With great players like Jrue Holiday, Jerime Anderson, Reeves Nelson and the Wear twins all on the California based team -- there wasn't room for many shots for the Boonville (NC) Starmount standout. But the lack of touches didn't keep Davila from doing the little things.

Davila battles for a rebound
Davila worked the paint, often guarding the oppositions most talented post threat. His strength and athleticism helped him snag rebounds and he got a bunch of offensive put backs throughout his seven games. In the championship he went for 9 points and 4 boards.

As far as recruiting goes, Davila claims scholarship offers from Clemson, Memphis, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Appalachian State and UNC Charlotte. Just a few weeks ago one of those schools had him on campus for an unofficial visit.

"I went to visit [Wake Forest] and they offered me a scholarship. I like them. It's a good school and a nice place. I talked to their coach and visited the campus."

Davila said distance won't be a factor in his recruitment, but comfort will play a role. He plans to take a few more visits before making a decision towards the end of the summer or during next season.
