This weekend, Betros will be able to see more of what the Wake Forest program is about when he visits for the spring game. "Wake was actually my first offer and I have five others, but this next weekend I'm going to Wake's [spring] game and hopefully everything will work out there," Betros noted.
The Jacksonville, Florida native currently holds offers from Duke, Indiana, Illinois, Southern Miss, and Ole Miss, but holds Wake Forest in high regard. "Wake's a great school," said Betros. "Lots of Bolles kids go there, you're getting a great education, Coach Elrod does a great job, and it feels like home. Riley [Skinner], John Russell, Chance Raines is going to be going there, Cannon Gaskin, and also Hunter Haynes and Riley Haynes – I know all of those guys."
Although Betros is giving each school an equal chance, Wake Forest is the leader at this point in his recruitment. "Honestly, everyone with an offer has an equal chance but from what I see at Wake, they're looking good right now. It's like a bigger Bolles. Going to college, you're probably going to get homesick and want to be with people who remind you from home and Jacksonville and on top of that, the education there is great."
Betros, who collected 130 tackles as a junior even though he misssed three games due to injury, plans to make his decision in the near future. "It's going to be soon."
