"Wake is one of those schools that I like a lot but I haven't had a chance to see," said Imeokparia. "In a week or two I'll know more, because our school went a little bit longer here. But that's one of the places that I'd like to try to visit.
"They showed a lot winning the ACC last year. That really proved they're heading in the right direction. They still have some great players and I like how they do things. One of their coaches came to my school in May and they've been showing a lot of interest ever since."
While he is listed as a running back, not every school is recruiting him as such. He is also being recruited as an athlete, a safety and a cornerback. Wake prefers him as a running back. As a junior Imeokparia rushed for 600 yards on just 48 carries with 10 touchdowns. He had a high ankle sprain but will be 100-percent in the fall.
Wake is not the only school he wants to visit.
"This summer is going to be strictly for visits," said Imeokparia. "There are a lot of coaches out there that have told me they like my game, but they want to wait a bit before they offer. I need to go to as many places as I can, get all the information I can, and hopefully a few will offer. After I take all my visits I'll narrow it down. I'd like to make my decision before the start of the football season."
Imeokparia declined to specifically mention other schools he is interested in that have not offered. When he transferred to Blair Academy he was reclassified for the Class of 2008.
