At 6-2, 250-pounds, Dawkins could play either end or tackle at the next level. Only Florida State would ask him to play defensive tackle. With good feet, quick hands and a lot of explosiveness, he could draw even more offers as the weeks go by.
"I'm not trying to do too much right now. I'm going to camp at Tennessee this weekend, and sometime in July I'll be camping at Florida State. Neither of them has offered but their coaches seem to like me. The coaches at Tennessee are excited I'm coming up, and I've got a real good relationship with the people at FSU.
What does he like about Wake? "Wake is a real good school and they would offer a great education," he said. "They just won the ACC Championship and they might do it again this year. They should have a real good team coming back. They're doing some good things up there." Dawkins attended Wake's games against Virginia Tech and Clemson last year – ironically, the only two games the Deacons lost during the 2006 regular season.
Coach Keith Henry has been responsible for recruiting Dawkins to Wake Forest. He is not sure when he would like to make his decision, but did say he planned on taking most of his official visits.
