Sales Talks About Wake Camp

Offensive lineman Quinton Sales camped at Wake Forest two weeks ago after listing the Deacs as his favorite. Is Wake still out in front?

With offers from Wake, Illinois and UConn, the 6-2, 264-pound guard from Friendly High School in Fort Washington, MD is improving his stock with coaches. Two weeks ago he said Wake Forest was his favorite. While he may have opened things up a bit, it appears as though Wake is still in a great position.

"I went to Wake a couple of weeks ago for a one day camp and I had a really good time," said Quinton Sales. "The coaches were cool and I had a great workout. I feel like I performed well. It made me even more interested in Wake Forest. My family and I got there early to ride around and check out the school. It seems like a pretty quiet area where you can focus on your studies. I could live in a lot of different places, and I've only seen a few schools, but I could definitely see myself there. I'll be trying to take more visits this summer. That said, I really don't have a favorite right now. I like all the schools recruiting me.

"It was good to see the people I've been talking to. Coach Billings has been recruiting me and we get along well. I really like the coaches at Wake Forest."

Sales plans on leaving for Illinois on Thursday for a camp over the weekend. He also plans on attending one day camps Syracuse and Boston College. Those three schools, along with Wake, appear to be the prime contenders for his services.

"It's pretty much the same schools that have been recruiting me all along," he said. "I don't expect too many other schools to jump in and get involved. It could happen, but I'm happy with the schools that are recruiting me now.

"I'm going to camp at some schools, but I don't want to become obsessed with recruiting and everything. I really want to help our team win a state championship, so that's going to be at the top of my mind. When the time comes I'll take some officials. My parents and I will decide where to go. My parents like Wake Forest, but they're pretty much wide open about it all like I am. They're all dead even."
