Will Muha Camp at Wake?

Defensive end Michael Muha had planned on camping at Wake Forest on July 15. Does he think he'll be able to attend?

"I'm not positive on the camp right now, but I do know at some point I want to get down there. There's a chance I'll go."

A few weeks ago Muha received an offer from Maryland, his first to date. He has also been hearing a lot from Boston College, UConn, Duke and Ohio. How much interest has Wake Forest extended to Muha?

"Compared to [some of] the others it hasn't been as much," he said. "I went down there for a camp last year and it's one of the schools I really like. I got a good impression from that trip.

"I'm hoping that if I am able to go down there maybe I'll impress them and get an offer. I remember the campus being real nice, and the location of the school isn't too bad. It's not really as far from home as it might seem."

For a while Muha was listed as a linebacker, but the 6-2, 230-pound prospect from Montour High School in McKees Rocks, PA projects as a defensive end.

"Yeah, that's where I've been playing," Muha explained. "I've got a lot of intensity and I'm going to go 100-percent every play. Some guys might be a tad faster than me, but I make up for it.

"I ran the 40-yard dash in 4.85 seconds at Duke, and at Ohio I ran it in 4.87. Earlier at Pitt I had run it on field turf and I tried to go with my track spikes, and both times I slipped right at the start. That's why I ran a 5.06 there. I'm normally in the 4.85 range."

Muha is an excellent student and carries a 4.0 grade point average. It should come as no surprise that academics will be a big factor in his decision.

"Absolutely, that will be huge. If I'm going to get a free education I'm going to get the best one I can find. Assuming I don't make the NFL, because not a lot of guys do, I want to have the best degree possible."

Muha plans on making his decision before the start of his senior season.
