Catching Up With Chris Billingslea

Defensive end Chris Billingslea is flying under the radar but impressed Wake Forest's coaches at the Deacons' most recent camp. Wednesday, DeaconSports caught up with Billinslea for the latest on his recruitment.

At 6-4 and 220 pounds, Chris Billinslea out of Fort Mill, South Carolina has a good motor and knows how to make plays. This past weekend, he was

"I was up at Wake Forest this past weekend and the camp went great," said Billingslea. "We worked out a lot and did a lot of the drills you'd expect, then we had lunch and went back out and did it again. I feel like I performed well. In fact, the Wake coaches that I talked to told me I was one of the most impressive guys at my position that they saw. They told me they'd keep up with me."

Billingslea is still waiting for his first offer but plenty of schools are keeping tabs on him. If he can continue to improve his speed, he could very well pick up offers from some top programs.

"I'd say my favorites at this point are Wake Forest, NC State and South Carolina," he said. "Georgia and Clemson are in there too. I'm not sure what's going to happen in terms of offers. I'll have to wait and see on that before I decide on officials."
