Galeher Enjoys Wake Forest Visit

Chicago, Ill., native Kevin Galeher made the long trip from his hometown to Wake Forest this past weekend for camp and while he didn't come home with a scholarship, he was extremely impressed with what the Demon Deacons had to offer.

Kevin Galeher has already picked up offers from Western Michigan, Toledo, Bowling Green and Akron, however this past weekend the 6-foot-4, 315-pound offensive guard made the trip from Chicago, Ill., to Wake Forest to take part in a weekend camp, hoping to pick up his fifth scholarship to date. While Galeher did not come home with that coveted offer, he did help himself with a solid performance.

"I spoke to the coaching staff and was told that they have a couple of guys ahead of me at offensive tackle right now, which is a position that they really need right now, so I did not pick up an offer from them, but they said I was close," Galeher said. "They essentially let me know that they were aware a few guys they are targeting are probably going to go elsewhere, so if that happens I will be next in line for an offer, so I guess it is just a waiting game to see what happens there."

"I really liked Coach Lobo (Steed Lobotzke) who handles their offensive line because he has great energy while doing his job and is a good guy," Galeher explained. "Wake Forest is a very prestigious school academically and the campus there is absolutely unbelievable. It's like a country club it is so well kept and overall I just had an excellent experience on campus there."

As a junior at St. Rita High School, Galeher was a first team All-Conference and first team All-Area selection. He was also named to the second team All-State squad.
