"I just received word that UNC-Chapel Hill and NC State are offering me," said Cooper. "My coach told me they want to and they gave me numbers for them so I could reach them. It was pretty exciting to hear. That's two big schools in the ACC and two pretty nice schools. I wouldn't mind going to either of them."
At this point, Cooper has no favorites. "Basically I'm interested in all the schools that have offered me so far. That's Wake Forest, South Carolina, UNC, NC State, ECU, Buffalo and North Carolina A&T. I'm keeping all those options open."
Cooper remains interested in Wake Forest, however, and the Deacon coaches continue to show heavy interest in the Wilmington native. "I'm very interested in them. I have a former teammate that's there now. I wouldn't mind going there at all. They're sending me handwritten letters just about every day, which makes you feel real good about yourself."
Cooper plans on taking most or all of his official visits, but his decision could come down to one thing - fan support.
"I like things about all the schools I'm looking at," he said. "But I want to make sure on gameday they're going to be pumped up. I want to see full stands when I look around on Saturday."
He also may be waiting on a few schools that have not yet offered, though that doesn't mean he isn't satisfied with the offers he currently holds.
"I actually used to be a big Clemson fan, so I'd like to hear from them. There are others like Miami, Florida State and Florida that everybody likes to watch. But I'm happy with what I've got right now. That doesn't mean I can't keep the door open and see what comes up."
