Givens: Wake a Hungry Team

Chris Givens is one of the most versatile prospects in Texas and the Deacons' staff is hot on his trail. Givens spoke with DeaconSports Thursday night to provide readers the latest on his recruitment and his thoughts on Wake Forest.

The 6-0, 200 pound back from Wylie, Texas is keeping his options open and should have plenty of schools to choose from.

"I'm just looking at everybody right now," said Givens. "I'm going to leave it like that for my season to see what options I've got. I'll see who offers down the line."

Givens has offers from Wake, Wisconsin, North Texas, UNLV and Utah. He said there were a few others he might be waiting on but declined to mention who that might be. Nonetheless, Wake Forest continues to be a major factor in his recruitment.

"I really like the academics and the graduation rate at Wake Forest," he explained. "They're a football team that you can tell is hungry. They're going to be a good team. I'll be watching them this year."

Givens said most schools are recruiting him as a running back while some prefer him in the secondary. Wake is unique in mentioning the possibility of lining up as a slot receiver.
