Another Nease Prospect Likes Wake

When Ramon Booi committed to Wake Forest he let it be known that he wanted the Deacon staff to extend an offer to teammate Dalton Faulds. The offensive guard spoke with DeaconSports.com about the pipeline from Nease to Wake, as well as his own recruitment.

At 6-2, 260 pounds, Faulds has been hearing from the likes of Marshall, Ball State, Middle Tennessee, Ole Miss and Wake Forest, and he would love to join teammates Booi, Ted Stachitas and Riley Haynes as verbal commits to Wake Forest.

"This summer I've been to four or five different camps," he said. "I went to a Scout combine at Florida State, then I went to Duke, UNC, Ole Miss and then I went to one with the (Florida) Gators. We're just starting football but recruiting has been going well. I'm just waiting for that Wake Forest offer at this point."

That's an offer he would nearly certainly accept.

"It's (Wake) definitely one of my top choices just because I've been there so much, hung out with a lot of the guys there and just feel so good there. I like the coaches a lot and there are going to be a lot of people I know up there."

Faulds thinks he knows why the Wake staff has been hitting Nease High School in St. Augustine so hard.

"I think it's because they've seen Hunter Haynes up there and they know how hard guys from here work. We're a powerhouse down here and I know our guys work as hard as anybody in the country, so the coaches know that when we get up there we're going to be some of the toughest freshmen around."

Faulds said he would be interested in visiting Middle Tennessee, Ole Miss, Marshall and perhaps Ball State this fall. He also said he would likely attend multiple games at Wake Forest.
