Rising Junior Likes Wake, Others

Rising junior athlete Jordan Love camped at Wake Forest this summer and the versatile athlete from Gilman School in Baltimore, Maryland spoke with DeaconSports.com about his summer.

"My first camp this summer was at Wake and that went really well," said Love. "There were 25 to 30 corners there and their coach told me I was one of the three best that they saw.

"Two weeks later I went up to Notre Dame. Their wide receivers coach worked us out individually and that went really good. They said I picqued their interest, so they're going to be looking at me too."

The 6-0, 185 pound rising junior has the ability to play a number of positions at the college level. At Wake Forest, he is likely to fit in as a cornerback.

"Wake Forest liked me more as a corner," he said. "I'm not sure I remember what Notre Dame said, or if they told me anything in that regard. They just liked me, I know that. LSU has told me they like me as a corner.

"Last year I started as a safety then went over to corner. This year I'm going to start at corner and receiver."

Love plans to major in history and said academics will be a major factor in his decision. He has a good connection with someone high up in the football world.

"I was supposed to go down to an LSU camp but I didn't make it. I was actually down there for their Pro Day and talked to Bo Pelini for a little bit. Instead of going back I worked out with the defensive backs coach from the Packers individually, and we sent some of the film from that to them. He has a strong relationship with my family so we've known each other for a while."
