Dawkins Still Eyeing Wake

Defensive lineman Everett Dawkins will have plenty of offers to choose from when the time comes to make his decision. For now the 6-2, 250 pound prospect from James F. Byrnes High School in Duncan, SC is busy preparing for his senior year.

Dawkins could wind up at either defensive end or tackle at the college level depending on how much he grows. He has the quickness to excel as a pass rusher and the strength to hold his own against the run.

"I've basically just been practicing with my team," said Dawkins. "We just recently finished up with two-a-days and we have a game on Friday so I'm pretty excited about that. It's been a while so I'm ready to get out there. I'm ready for it. It's my senior year so I'm ready to go."

Dawkins has not narrowed his list much and is still looking at many of the same schools -- including Wake Forest, Florida State, Michigan State, N.C. State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin -- all schools that have been recruiting him for some time. Although many believe that Florida State is the current leader, Dawkins notes that he is still keeping an eye on the Demon Deacons.

"Oh they're one of my top schools," he said of Wake Forest. "I get mail from them just about every day and they would text me all the time when they were able to. I'm looking at them very hard."

Dawkins does not plan on taking his official visits until after his senior season.
