Nation's #2 SF Returns From Wake Official

Al-Farouq Aminu, the nation's #2 small forward in the class of 2008, took his official visit to Wake Forest this past weekend. DeaconSports spoke with Anjirlic Aminu, Al-Farouq's mother, following their visit this past weekend.

"We enjoyed our visit to Wake," said Anjirlic Aminu, Al-Farouq Aminu's mother. "I think I can speak for [us] as a unit. We definitely enjoyed our visit and felt very much welcome. It is fun when the red carpet is rolled out and we didn't have any problems walking down the red carpet for a weekend. We enjoyed ourselves and enjoyed the fabulous game where they beat the pants off the Tarheels.

In front of the scenes and behind the scenes, we felt very welcome. We appreciate everyone's hospitality and had a great weekend. From the culinary delights to the pro basketball game, we had a great time throughout the weekend."

Aminu believes that her son as well as Ty Walker and Tony Woods, the other official visitors, all enjoyed their visits. "They all three enjoyed each other, themselves, and the people," she said. "The university is wonderful and it's a group of people to make you feel welcome. I really feel welcome to the Wake family."

According to Anjirlic Aminu, her son will sign with Wake Forest in mid-November. "I haven't gotten details completely," she said, "but it was suggested to go ahead and do something in the mid-part of the month."
