Deacons Offer VA Junior

Lynchburg, Va., native Logan Thomas excels on both the gridiron and the basketball court, which is why he already holds three scholarship offers for football and six for basketball as a junior. The jumbo-sized wide receiver played quarterback as a junior, however he projects to the next level at his natural position or perhaps even as a tight end if he keeps growing.

Logan Thomas has a big 6-foot-6, 220-pound frame and runs his 40-yard dash in the 4.6 range, so he could probably end up at either wide receiver or tight end at the next level. Three schools have already extended written scholarship offers in Wake Forest, Virginia and Virginia Tech and several more are showing interest in the Brookville High School standout.

"Right now I have the three offers from Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest and have also been hearing from North Carolina, North Carolina State, Maryland, Georgia Tech and Marshall," Thomas explained. "I also have six scholarship offers already for basketball and play a number of different positions for our team, moving everywhere from point guard to center at times."

Thomas has visited three schools already and took some time to talk about each of them.

"I went to Virginia to watch them play Wake Forest and really liked the coaching staff and players there," Thomas said. "They offer a great education and good environment. The campus is pretty spread out, but that's not too big of a deal."

"I also went to watch Virginia Tech play Florida State this season and it was really nice down there," Thomas stated. "The crowd was how they always are, crazy and loud and the coaching staff was really cool. The Hokies have a great program and I liked the compact campus."

"I haven't been to a football game at Wake Forest, but I did watch their basketball game against Florida State. I liked the campus a lot because it is compact and they have a very small enrollment there. The coaches were all really nice and the program is really starting to blossom."

As a sophomore, Thomas caught 54 passes for over 900 yards and eight touchdowns.
