Patterson, a 6'2, 190-pound receiver out of Henry County High in McDonough, Georgia, was able to get a solid feel for the Wake Forest program and meet several of the coaches. "Saturday, I got to look at the practice area locker room, game locker room, walk the field, see the dorms, the practice area for the basketball team, and they showed the cafeteria and how everything worked," he said. "I didn't get to meet players but I met a lot of the coaches." Patterson met Coach Lambert and Coach Grobe on the visit.
"The staff was great," he said. "They welcomed me there and answered every question asked. They provided me with all the facts on the education system there."
The staff also made sure that Patterson knew he was highly thought of by the Demon Deacon staff before leaving Winston-Salem. "Yes, they offered yesterday," Patterson noted Sunday night. "I loved that. It was nice. Coach Grobe laid it out in front of me and my dad. They said I could play the Z receiver, X receiver, or slot receiver and also get a look at kick returner."
Patterson certainly enjoyed his visit to Wake Forest, but he plans to take his recruitment slow and continue to make visits before he names favorites or cuts down his list. "I've been making visits since this fall with unofficials," he said. "I've been to Tennessee, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Wake, UNC, Florida State, South Carolina, and Florida. I've got Central Florida this weekend, Louisville on the 5th of April and also Goergia on March 22nd.
At this juncture, Patterson holds offers from the Demon Deacons along with Central Florida, Troy, Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina, Stanford, Army, and Purdue. Patterson also holds a 4.5 GPA in the classroom and is already qualified academically.
