Tucker Windle may have flown a bit under the radar up until now but things are looking good for this athlete from Charlotte Catholic High School. After a 2007 season in which Windle and his teammates made it to the 3-A state title game and lost a heart breaker to Greensboro Dudley 28-20, there is only one goal left for them in 2008 -win it all.

Windle played linebacker and tight end for Catholic and excelled on both sides of the ball in 2007. He registered 15 catches for 365 yards and 7 touchdowns on offense while getting 65 tackles, 6 sacks, and 4 forced fumbles on defense. Windle was also named defensive MVP of the state title game for his 10 tackle performance. With his size and versatility, Windle has seen his recruitment pick up recently.

"I have offers from Wake, Duke, Virginia, and Wisconsin right now and Stanford, NC State, and South Carolina are showing interest," said Windle. "Virginia is recruiting me as a outside linebacker and Wake is just recruiting me as a athlete. They like me at linebacker and tight end."

As far as favorites are concerned, Windle said two teams stick out at this point. :I really like Virginia and Wake at this point," he said. Oddly enough, Windle has family connections to both schools. "My mom is a Wake graduate and my dad went to law school there. My dad also went to UVA and played outside linebacker for them so I know a lot about both schools."

When asked about what he liked about both schools Windle responded, "Virginia is a great place. It would be cool to follow my dad's footsteps and play linebacker at UVA. As far as Wake is concerned, it is also a great school. I like the fact that they are recruiting me at both tight end and linebacker. That means they will put me at the position they need me most at and I could see the field earlier. Also when I visited Wake recently I was impressed with the team unity. They were getting ready for conditioning drills and weight lifting and they were all excited about it. Also, Wake is close to home which is nice. Both schools offer great academics which is very important to me."

Windle said he plans to visit Wake and Virginia for their spring games and he also plans to go to Virginia's three day camp. He also stated he may make it to Wake's summer camp as well. Windle said he plans on committing this spring or summer.
