Bohanon Holds Three Offers

When it comes to recruiting fans often overlook the fullback position. Oftentimes the position is eventually filled by prospects who are moved around on the field once they arrive on campus.

That said, each year there are a handful of true fullback recruits that have already showed a knack for being successful at the position. One such prospect is Tommy Bohanon of North Fort Myers High School in Florida. The 6-1, 240 pound fullback runs the 40 yard dash in 4.71 seconds and had a big junior season.

Last year he rushed for 692 yards and nine touchdowns while also being an active presence on defense.

"Right now I have three offers," Bohanon explained. "One from Wake, one from FAU and one from UCF. Michigan State said they were most likely going to offer. They're just waiting on approval from the head coach. The offensive coordinator and all (the other coaches) approved it already. They're just waiting for the head coach."

In addition to offers from those three schools Bohanon is entertaining interest from Louisville, Rutgers, South Florida and Tennessee. While his build may lead some to believe he may have a future at linebacker, all of the schools currently in the picture like him as a fullback.

Bohanon plans to begin taking visits to potential schools very soon. "All next week I'm going on [unofficial] visits," he said. "I'll be going on a road trip. We'll go to South Carolina, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Louisville and Michigan State."

Even before his trip to Winston-Salem, Bohanon is very interested in Wake Forest. "Right now I'm definitely interested in them. They (would) play me at fullback and move me around as an H-Back, using me in the slot, as a fullback and that sort of thing."

Bohannon is also one of the strongest backfield prospects in the nation, bench pressing nearly 400 pounds.
