Edwards Twins Attend WFU Camp

Two of the best athletes in South Carolina are twin brothers Tariq and Tyrell Edwards from Marlboro County. They are currently hitting the camp circuit which included a trip to Wake Forest this past weekend.

Tyrell and Tariq Edwards are two very special athletes. Tariq, a 6'3, 225 pound outside linebacker prospect, and Tyrell, a 6'4 215 pound linebacker/tight end, will no doubt be playing Division I football next season. Both of them went to the Wake Forest one day camp this past weekend and had good things to say.

"The camp went real well today," said Tariq. "I went against some very good linebackers there and felt I did real well. The coaches said they were impressed with how I used my hands as well as my foot speed and hips for a guy my size. It was my first trip to Wake and they have a real nice campus and I would have liked to see more but we had to get back home right after camp."

Tyrell also felt he had a good day at camp. "It went real good for me. I worked out with the quarterbacks and linebackers. I am just beginning to learn the linebacker position but I like it. The coaches told me they liked what I did today at linebacker and I think I impressed them. I really like the practice facility there and the coaches were real nice and helpful."

Tariq has offers from Virginia Tech, Illinois, Wake, NC State, Vanderbilt, Maryland, South Carolina, and Virginia while Tyrell has offers from Illinois and Vanderbilt. They both said they are wide open and have no favorites. They mentioned they would like to play college ball together but will make their decisions based on what was best for them as individuals. Both Tyrell and Tariq plan on making their decisions in early August before the start of their senior season. They have visits coming up at South Carolina, North Carolina, NC State and Maryland as well as a return trip to Virginia Tech.
