Anderson On The Mend

Defensive back Rishard Anderson proved himself to be one of Florida's more gifted safeties during his junior campaign last fall. Unfortunately he has been hampered by an injury of late.

A 6', 175 pound safety from American Heritage High School in Miramar, Florida, Rishard Anderson is working hard to be ready for his senior season.

"I know I'm going to some (schools) this summer but right now I don't know where," Anderson said. "I know I'm going to Wake Forest but I don't know when. I'll just be doing unofficial visits. I've been hurt and had surgery but I'll be back in August.

"I had a labral tear in the front of my shoulder. It's been good though. The recovery has been good and there's not a lot of pain. I've got two more weeks..."

While Anderson says he does not have any favorites at this stage in the recruiting process there are a lot of schools hot on his trail.

"I've been talking to Virginia, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Rutgers, Western Kentucky, Northern Illinois, New Hampshire, Auburn and Wisconsin," he said. "I've got offers from Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Syracuse, Rutgers, Northern Illinois and Western Kentucky.

"A lot of them want to see me practice (because of the injury), but I haven't been able to yet."

Where do the Deacons stand with Anderson? "I like them, that's a good school. I like the kind of players they recruit and their coaching style. They said they're looking for speed so they can compete in their division."
