Barnes Names Favorite

Whit Barnes has had a busy summer thus far and it doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon. The 6'4, 270 pound center prospect will hit a few camps in the near future and then begin to narrow down his choices. DeaconSports.com recently got a quick update with Barnes.

Whit Barnes will be hitting the summer camp circuit hard the next couple of weeks. "I am going to be at Carolina's camp Friday and Saturday morning, then I will head to Duke for their camp Saturday afternoon," said Barnes, "Then I will head to N.C. State's camp next week."

Barnes was able to visit Wake a couple of weeks ago and had great things to say about the Deacon program. "The visit went great. I really like it there. Wake and Carolina are my top two and Wake is my leader right now."

Barnes admits that he wants to se where he stands with Carolina before making a decision. "The Carolina coaches have told me I will know where I stand after camp. I don't have a offer from them yet so we will se what happens. I want to go to these camps then sit down and make a decision. I want to decide before my football season starts, maybe around August 1st."

Barnes also stated he has offers from Wake, Duke, Western Carolina, Elon, and Western Kentucky at this point.
