Brandon Scott, a 6'4, 215 pound prospect from Forest Park High School in Woodbridge, Virginia, is being recruited by some to play wide receiver and others to play different positions. Wake Forest was recruiting Scott as a defensive end, and that may be one reason they appear to have backed off.
"The thing with Wake Forest is, I don't really hear from them anymore," Scott said. "I know they got a defensive end so I'm not even sure they're still interested. It's been a couple of months and that's why I haven't been giving them much thought."
Sure enough, Wake Forest has verbal commitments from Zach Thompson (Ashburn, Va.) and John Gallagher (St. Augustine, Fla.). While they may not be showing Scott a lot of attention at the moment, it's still a school he would consider if they start to show interest again.
"Oh definitely I would," Scott said. "Wake Forest is one of my mom's favorite schools. We just kind of lost contact and I took that as they had moved on."
With Wake Forest on the back burner, Scott is very interested in Maryland and Penn State and is waiting on offers from both schools. His future plans will depend largely on what those two coaching staffs decide to do.
"Basically my head coached talked to the Maryland head coach and he said they enjoyed watching me play. They got to see what he couldn't see on film, and they're going to get in contact with me personally very soon. As far as Penn State goes, I still haven't heard back from them but I'm expecting an email or that they'll contact me through my head coach."
