Rucker: Living A Dream

Quan Rucker, an electrifying receiver from West Iredell High School, grew up dreaming he would one day be a Demon Deacon. Rucker fulfilled that dream Monday night when he committed to Wake Forest.

Quan Rucker had plenty of offers to chose from but when the time came for him to make a decision, one school stood out. "I committed to Wake on Monday," said Rucker. "It is a big relief to me and has taken a lot off my shoulders. I called Coach Henry Monday and he told me they were only taking one more receiver in this class. I told him I wanted to be that guy. Coach was excited and he said I made his day."

Rucker took his time with the recruiting process and looked at all of his options which included Maryland, Illinois, N.C. State, Virginia, and a host of other schools. In the end, both he and his mother thought Wake was the place for him.

"My mom and I talked about it a lot and we both loved the campus and the academics at Wake in addition to the great football program they have. I just decided it was time to make my decision. I didn't want to wait and lose the offer."

Rucker has always loved Wake and is excited to be part of the family. "It is just real exciting. When I was young, I saw the WF and told my mom that was where I wanted to play. I am just very excited to be part the Wake Forest program."

Rucker is a multi-talented receiver that has soft hands, great quickness, and runs good routes. Rucker also wanted the Wake fans to know he is a hard worker and will do whatever it takes to help the team win.
