Cross Camping at Wake

Brendan Cross is one of the best quarterbacks in the southeast. The 6'1, 184-pound signal caller from Alpharetta, GA has had a busy summer so far and he is not done yet. caught up with Cross and got an update on his recruitment.

There is no doubt Jim Grobe and his staff want to add a quarterback to their already impressive 2009 class. One name to keep an eye on is Brendan Cross. Cross has been to several camps this summer and has at least a couple more upcoming.

"The beginning of the summer was a bit hectic," said Cross, "then there was a bit of a lull but now it seems my recruitment is picking up again."

Cross holds offers from Air Force, Bowling Green, and Ohio University. In addition, some other Division I schools are showing a lot of interest. "I am hearing from Vanderbilt, South Florida, Stanford, and Wake Forest."

Cross had plenty of good things to say about the Demon Deacon program. "Their program has really been good the past few years. Also, Wake is a high academic school which is important to me and my family. I have talked with Coach Knorr and he seems to be a great guy. I look forward to meeting the rest of the coaching staff."

This Sunday, Cross will participate in Wake's one day camp. "I am looking forward to camp on Sunday," he said. "I want to meet the other coaches at Wake and I plan on taking a look at the campus while I'm there."

Cross is also ready to show his variety of skills this weekend. "When I go to camps, I really want to prove myself to the coaches and remove any doubts they may have about me."

Cross threw for over 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns last season while running for over 400 more yards and 7 touchdowns. He is a smart player and with a strong and accurate arm and is poised to have a terrific senior season.

Cross claims no favorites at this point and plans on making his decision when the right situation come along. In addition to camp in Winston-Salem, he will also be attending Stanford camp at the end of this month. will have more from Cross after his Wake camp.
