Thomas Enjoys WFU Unofficial Visit

Logan Thomas and his teammates at Brookville High School are off to a great start this season. At 4-0, the Bees are poised to make a lot of noise this season. DeaconSports caught up with with Thomas about his season thus far and his recent unofficial visit to Winston-Salem.

Logan Thomas is one of the best overall athletes in the class of 2009. With his combination of size, speed and overall skills, Thomas will be a huge get for one team when he signs in February. The four-star tight end prospect cut his list to seven two months ago with Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Virginia, North Carolina, Wake Forest, West Virginia and Clemson making the cut. Since that point, Florida State and Penn State have offered and Thomas has added both to his list.

Thomas' recruitment has continued to run smoothly over the past few months and the same can be said about Brookville High School season thus far. Thomas plays quarterback and safety for Brookville and has helped lead his team to a 4-0 start.

"The team is playing very well right now," said Thomas. "Our offensive line is playing great and so are our running backs. I am not playing my best as of yet. I have two passing touchdowns and four rushing touchdowns so far. But the big thing is the team is winning and playing well."

So far, not much has changed for Thomas on the recruiting front. "My list hasn't changed recently. I have visited UVA, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest recently though."

Two weekends ago, Thomas was able to see an exciting game between Wake Forest and Ole Miss and -- once again -- came away impressed with the Deacon program. "I have been to Wake multiple times," Thomas noted. "It is really nice there. They have a great campus, good academics and I really think their program is up and rising. I think Wake is going to win a lot of games this season. They offer a great education which is important because I know football won't last forever."

Thomas also mentioned he was very impressed with Deacon Tower and the other renovations made to BB&T Field.

Contrary to what some analysts and naysayers believe, Thomas made it clear that Wake Forest is, in fact, in good shape with him and in good shape when it comes to his recruitment. Thomas is not expected to make a decision in the near future, however, as he plans to set and take his official visits prior to deciding on a school.
