Hurst Sets WFU Official

Demontre Hurst has the big play ability that everyone is looking for in a corner. Wake Forest has made Hurst one of their top targets for months now and Hurst will finally get to make the trip to Winston-Salem. DeaconSports spoke with Hurst about his season thus far and his plans to visit Wake Forest.

Demontre Hurst and his teammates at Lancaster High School did not have a great start to their season but in recent weeks it looks like the team is on the right path. "We started off slow," said Hurst. "We started 1-3 in our non-district games but now we are 2-0 in district and are playing well."

Hurst is off to a great start individually this season. "I'm not sure about how many tackles I have but I have two kick returns for touchdowns. One was 80 yards and one was 108. I also have a interception return for a touchdown and a blocked kick."

On the recruiting front, Hurst has been able to set up a few visits including one to Wake Forest. "I plan to visit Wake on November 8th," he said. "I am excited to visit there and see what they have to offer."

Although not ready to claim a outright favorite, Hurst made it clear Wake is in great shape. "Wake is definitly in great shape with me. They are one of my top schools. I talk with Coach Billings weekly. The coaches at Wake feel like I have a chance to play early there and I like that. That gives Wake a bit of a edge."

With the loss of three players in the secondary, Hurst would have a chance to challenge for playing time as a freshman if he decides on Wake.
