Daniel Vogelsang and his teammates are off to a 4-3 start this season -- a record Vogelsang says is very misleading.
"We are 4-3 but we have played some very tough teams," said Vogelsang. "We lost to a very good team out of Indianapolis as well as St. X who is ranked in the top 30 in the nation. We also had a close loss to our rival but we have won our last two games by around 50 points. I think we are headed in the right direction."
As expected, Vogelsang has been a big contributor from his tight end position. "I have 17 catches so far for over 200 yards and five touchdowns," he noted.
Although enjoying his senior season, Vogelsang can't wait to get to Wake Forest and be a part of Jim Grobe's program. "I went to camp at Wake and knew it was the place for me," he said. "I love the way they play at Wake and I think Coach Grobe is the best in the country. I am going to grayshirt and will be at Wake in 2010."
As for what position he will play, that is still a bit in the air. "The coaches at Wake said I could play tight end, linebacker, or defensive end. As of now, they like me at tight end which is my #1 choice. But I will play wherever the team needs me."
