Overstreet To Wear Black & Gold

Brodie Oversteet made his college choice this past weekend. As one of the top remaining targets in Wake's recruiting class, his verbal to WFU is a huge boost to WFU recruiting efforts.

Wake Forest received some huge news this past weekend when the Demon Deacons received a verbal from one of their top recruiting prospects, offensive lineman Brodie Overstreet.

"I've committed to WFU," Overstreet said Sunday night. "I believe it's an opportunity that I couldn't pass up with the education and the academic program. I like the coaches a lot and the players I hung out with I liked as well. The campus was nice. I liked about it as much as one possibly could."

How big is the verbal from Overstreet? Huge. The Kentucky native had offers from Wake, Louisville, Indiana, Clemson, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Duke, and Vanderbilt, among others. He also received one of the top awards in the state, despite being sidelined with an illness for a few weeks.

"I was sick at the start of the year, but I had about 50-60 tackles on defense and played well on offense. I still made All-State despite missing games."

While Overstreet played both offense and defense in high school, he is expected to play only offense at Wake Forest. "Wake wants me to play offensive guard," Overstreet said. They say I could play tackle too, though. We'll see when I get there. I'll be happy at either position."

And Deacon fans should be happy too. Overstreet's a Deacon!
