2011 Intro: Ike Nwamu

Ike Nwamu is a name to watch out for in the 2011 class. Nwamu has helped lead his Westchester Academy team to a 21-1 record so far this season. DeaconSports spoke with Nwamu about his season so far.

Westchester Academy is home to two super sophomores in Deuce Bello and Ike Nwamu. While Bello is already a house hold name in recruiting circles, Nwamu is also one to keep an eye on.

Nwamu, a strong and athletic 6'3 combo guard, is pleased with his team's play so far and has his sights on a bigger goal. "We are playing very well together as a team," said Nwamu. "After our loss to Ragsdale we came together and bounced back strong. I feel like we can make a run at the state title."

When asked to describe his game, Nawamu said, "My strengths right now are my shooting ability and my ability to get everyone involved in the game. I am working on my shot selection and think I can improve on that."

Nwamu getting letters from many Division I schools at this time even though he is just a high school sophomore. "I have heard from Maryland, Virginia Tech, N.C. State, and Oklahoma."

Wake Forest coaches have been to watch Westchester on multiple occasions this season and have already extended an offer to Nwamu's teammate Duece Bello. They will also be keeping an eye on Nwamu and his progress.

"I don't know a whole lot about Wake right now. I do have a bit of a feel for them just being around Deuce and seeing how they are recruiting him. They would be a team I would be interested in though."
