"The offseason has been going well," said Knott. "I have a bit of hamstring issue I aggravated running track but besides that things are good. It's nothing major. I probably should not have been running on it but I am very competitive and hate to sit out. My coach has finally made me sit out for a few weeks."
On the recruiting front, Knott is getting his share of Division I interest at this point. "Recruiting has been a great experience so far. Wake offered me a scholarship which was great. I am also hearing from TCU, Kansas, Arizona, and Baylor. I have visited both Wake and Baylor."
Knott recently visited Wake Forest for their spring game and had a wonderful visit. "So far, I really love Wake. My brother, Chris Givens, goes there. When I visited last weekend the players and coaches really made me feel at home and welcome. I was able to see the school and get a real good feel for it. I could definitely see myself being a Demon Deacon. They are real high on my list."
When asked about the possibility of playing with his brother on the next level, Knott responded, "I would love to play with Chris in college. We have never been on the same team in our lives. He tore his ACL the first game I played on varsity. Chris and I have always wanted to play on the same team."
On the field, Knott takes a no nonsense approach when he gets the ball in his hands. "I just run hard and fast. I am working on getting shiftier like Chris is and will bring more of that next season."
Although he is not in a rush to make a decision, one team is really sticking out for Knott at this point. "I am really leaning toward Wake right now. I just want to make sure of my decision before I make a commitment. I don't have a timetable or anything at this point. But I really do like Wake."
