McKie A Demon Deacon

A huge piece of the 2010 puzzle fell into place for coach Dino Gaudio and company today when talented wing Travis McKie decided to become a Demon Deacon.

Travis McKie has been a priority for the Wake Forest staff for a while now and their hard work paid off Wednesday when McKie decided it was time to join the Wake Forest program.

"It's a done deal," said McKie. "It feels great. Wake Forest made me a priority from day one. I love the environment at Wake, it is close to home, and I will get a great education there. Everyone from Wake embraced me from the start."

McKie knew a while ago that he wanted to be at Wake, but just wanted to take his time and make sure of his decision. "I knew after I visited last year for the Indiana game that Wake is where I wanted to go. I just wanted to take my time and not rush things. Yesterday, Coach Gaudio and Coach Kelsey came to visit me. I thought about things and decided to call them today and give them my commitment."

When asked what Wake fans can expect from him, McKie responded, "I just want to win a lot of games and help the team be successful."

McKie will certainly do just that. He has a great combination of athleticism and basketball skill. McKie plays hard all of the time and is a very good rebounder. He also has a very good mid range game and has range beyond the three point line. At 6'7, he is very versatile and can play both inside and out.
